Review

This is a unique movie. I am not sure what Genre this is but I can tell you that every minute was interesting. Denzel Washington was nominated for an Oscar with this perfornance and rightly so. He hasn't done a movie of this quality since Training Day.

Viola Davis deserved her Oscar, wow, what a performance. In fact all the characters in Fences deserved recognition.

"Great casting. Simple scenes like having a conversation by the porch drive this film"

Quite simply, this a story about a working class father (rubbish cleaner) and his wife and son, set in the 1950's. The son has a very strict upbringing and the father works very hard and can be described as abrasive. I won't go into the story futher. A simple story but watch it for the 139 minutes of top shelf acting.
