In this action comedy a snowplow driver (Nels played by Liam Neeson) is after the drug dealers that may have killed his son. This movie is based based on the 2014 Norwegian film "In Order of Disappearance". The cast includes: Liam Neeson as Nels, Emmy Rossum as Untitled, Laura Dern as Untitled, Julia Jones as Untitled, Tom Bateman as Viking, William Forsythe as Untitled, Raoul Max Trujillo as Thorpe, Aleks Paunovic as Detective Osgard, Domenick Lombardozzi as Mustang, Elysia Rotaru as Diner Waitress, John Doman as Gip, Victor Zinck Jr. as Ski Dude, Emily Maddison as Gorgeous Woman, Benjamin Hollingsworth as Dexter and Nathaniel Arcand as Smoke.
In a snowy town, we see some people in a funeral. Nels (played by the reliable Liam Neeson) has lost his son. It appears that he was murdered. Nels goes home and is so stressed that he puts a rifle in his mouth. The friends of his son explain to him what they know about the situation. Nels pushes one of them against a wall and questions him.
Liam Neeson has always had an intimidating nature. He uses that well through out this movie. Nels goes to a factory. He asks a man for more information about what happened. Nels decks a man. You see several power punches from Nels (great coreograohy). The man is on the ground bleeding. Nels asks for one more bit of information before finishing him off. He throws the body in the river stream and then it falls down the waterfall. The waterfall looks spectacular.
Two cops are driving around. The first cop see's teenagers smoking weed. Back with Nels, he ruthlessly beats another man up (head and body shots). Then he shoots him after finding out what he needs to know. Liam then throws the body in the river again hehe. It's dark comedy.
We see a businessman (Trevor 'Viking' Calcote played by Tom Batemen) having a meeting with an assistant. It looks like he knows something about the murder of Nels son. A snow plough is clearing the snow. Nels waits till he stops. Nels punches the snow plough guy in the face. They share a joke then Liam once again finishes him off hehe.
Nels gets in his truck and drives the plough guys truck off the road, the truck goes flying. Great scene. Liam goes to a friends house to find more info. He gets help from him. Viking talks to his goons and is not happy. Those people that Nels murdered were his men. Then two men talk in a car. Viking ties up an american indian and interogates him. Then he shoots at him. The american indians then have a meeting. Then cops chat about the whole situation. It looks like there is a drug turf war commencing, Viking vs Whitebull.
Nels is in a car and they are listening to radio. "No Kanye" one of them says hehe. I've been offered money to off you" says a man to Nels. The man is called Eskimo. They agree to some sort of deal. Viking asks his Wing Man about Eskimo. "I've got cancer up the ass, so screw your pain" hehe. So at this point you know that Eskimo isn't afraid of death.
The american indian chief (White Bull) says that "it will be blood for blood, son for son". It appears he wants revenge. Viking hangs one of White Bull's men on a light pole. They figure white bull will be angry. You see a poodle poop on the ground hehehe. One of the many small comedic scenes in this movie. There is a messenger that tells whitebull that he finished off a man that is against him. Whitebull shoots the messenger saying it was too late.Viking's son has been kidnapped (it was Nels). Whitebull's goons shoot a man. Nels has a rifle. He is outside a house. He aims for Viking but a guy comes from behind. Nels defeats him. The sound of gunfire helps provides a great action scene. There are also some silent scenes (whilst the shooting continues), great action direction. Viking gets shot by Whitebull.
This is a unique action movie. Intense action scenes with a few hilarious laugh out loud moments thrown in to cut the tension. Liam Neeson is seldom in comedies but he did well here.
"There is brutality in some of the action scenes in this movie. Liam Neeson excels with these brunt force fighting scenes. There are also side characters that popup with plenty of personality"Of the side characters, Tom Batemen as Viking did outstanding. He plays a menacing business man. A great action movie. Enjoy the entertaining 1hr 59min.
